In a major move to bolster the emirate’s security framework, Sharjah Police and ADNOC Distribution have announced the successful integration of petrol station cameras with the central Sharjah Police Operations Room. This strategic partnership, finalized on January 18, 2026, allows law enforcement to monitor vital service locations in real-time, ensuring that any incident—from minor traffic collisions to critical security threats—is addressed within seconds. By leveraging the vast network of petrol station cameras across Sharjah authorities are effectively creating a 24/7 digital shield for both residents and visitors.
A New Era of Institutional Cooperation
The project was officially highlighted during a coordination meeting attended by Brigadier Ibrahim Musabeh Al Ajel, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations, and Shaikha Al Khoori, Manager of Operational Assurance at ADNOC Distribution.
The primary goal is to foster “institutional cooperation” that goes beyond traditional patrolling. By linking the existing petrol station cameras to the police’s high-tech command center, the response time for emergency calls is expected to drop significantly, building on Sharjah’s existing “Aman” initiative which has already seen a 29% reduction in crime incidents.
How the Smart Monitoring System Works
The integration isn’t just about watching a live feed. The Sharjah Police operations room uses advanced AI to analyze data from these petrol station cameras to detect:
- Suspicious Activity: Automated alerts for unauthorized behavior.
- Emergency Scenes: Instant visual confirmation for fires or medical emergencies.
- Traffic Flow: Managing congestion around fuel stations during peak hours.

Faster Response and Public Confidence
For the public, this means that assistance is now just a glance away. If an incident occurs at a pump, the police can visualize the scene before the first patrol car even arrives. This high-level monitoring through petrol station cameras ensures that officers are equipped with the right information to handle reports with maximum efficiency. As Sharjah continues its digital transformation, such smart surveillance systems are becoming the backbone of a safer urban environment.
Safety for the 2026 Community
With over 92 ADNOC stations now acting as active surveillance hubs, Sharjah is setting a benchmark for regional security. Residents are encouraged to continue using the 999 emergency and 901 non-emergency numbers, knowing that their safety is backed by a sophisticated network of petrol station cameras that are always watching over the community’s welfare.
